This notice explains what personal data va.lu processes when you visit this site or write to us, and why.

Who is responsible

This website is operated by va.lu. For any question about your data, write to info@va.lu.

What we collect

When you use the contact form: your name, your email address and your message.

When you visit the site: our hosting provider processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. This is needed to deliver the site and to protect it from abuse. We do not use this data to identify you.

We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.

Why we use it

We use your contact details and your message only to read and answer what you wrote. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in replying to people who write to us (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) and, where you ask about a possible transaction, steps taken at your request before entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).

Technical data is processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a secure website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Who else processes it

  • Cloudflare hosts this site, delivers its pages and protects the contact form against automated abuse.
  • Resend delivers messages sent through the contact form to our mailbox.

Both companies are based in the United States. Where data leaves the European Economic Area, the transfer relies on safeguards recognized under the GDPR, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with anyone else unless the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep your message and any correspondence that follows for up to two years after our last exchange, and then delete it. Technical data is kept by our hosting provider for a limited period under its own retention rules.

Your rights

You can ask for access to your data, for its correction or deletion, for a restriction of its use, or for a copy in a portable format. You can also object to its use. Write to info@va.lu.

You may also complain to a data protection authority. In Luxembourg this is the Commission nationale pour la protection des données (CNPD), at cnpd.public.lu.
